ETHOS

Early Years is my absolute passion and I love the freedom that children are given when exploring and learning during play. I place great emphasis on supporting child-led learning and strive to create a consistently stimulating and inclusive learning environment that ignites children’s natural inner curiosity.

I strongly believe that the adult is the most valuable resource available to a child in any setting and this underpins my hands-on approach to learning.

I strive to create positive partnerships with children and their parents in order to ensure that all children are happy, settled and thriving when in my care. I seek to challenge and extend children’s learning through their chosen play-based activities.

My love for the indoor learning environment is mirrored by my love for the outdoors, and I regard both as equally important when promoting child exploration and development in the Early Years.

More on this can be found on the ‘Outdoor Learning’ area.

THE PLAYROOM & FACILITIES

The aim at Simply Early Years is to consistently provide the highest quality learning environment that mirrors any outstanding Early Years Foundation Stage primary classroom.

I place great emphasis on using child-centred teaching methods to help children to develop on an individual basis, allowing each child to lead their own learning. In doing so, they are able to freely explore – guided by their own natural curiosities and interests.

I have created a warm and secure learning environment that enables children to become happy, confident and self-motivated learners; fostering independence and a love of learning from a young age.

Safeguarding measures have been put in place throughout the facilities to maintain a safe environment for babies and young children.

OUTDOOR LEARNING

Outdoor learning

When promoting child-led learning in the outdoor environment, I strive to encourage independent play and promote the exploration of nature and natural objects.

Through a planned and purposeful approach, children in my care will be supported in both on-site and off-site experiences to develop and enhance their love for and exploration of the outdoors.

In addition to going on nature walks in all-weathers, we will introduce a mud-kitchen, water tray, sand-pit and vegetable patch.

TESTIMONIALS

COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Our opening times are Monday - Friday 07:45 - 17:15.

We charge a daily rate of £55 per day. This includes lunch, snacks, cow's milk and formula (we may need to charge an additional fee for more specialised formula).

Unfortunately, no we can't offer half days.

We offer childcare for children aged 0-5.

We are fortunate enough to have our very own playroom. We also have a covered carport area and two outdoor spaces - a front garden and back garden. Our ethos is heavily underpinned by the Montessori approach, where children lead their own learning.

We start our day by singing our 'hello' song once all of the children have arrived for the day. We then have a short play which is usually followed by either having snack or going to a local playgroup by car/walking. Depending on the sleep needs of the children that day, we either have lunch and then go for a walk in the pram, or vice versa. After lunch involves more child-led exploration and usually another walk in the local area/drive to playgroup before having a mid-afternoon snack.
I have over ten years' experience of teaching in Early Years classrooms in the North West (Preschool and Reception) and prior to this, two years' experience of working as a nursery nurse in a Private Daycare Nursery.
I completed the St John's Ambulance 'Paediatric First Aid' Training in May 2023.
We work closely with parents to ensure that we are able to offer the highest standard of childcare to their child. In addition to this, we adopt a multi-agency approach where we are able to work closely with a range of professionals to support the needs of individual children.
Our passion for nurturing the developing child in addition to our drive to facilitate a calm, safe and inviting learning environment where children thrive by becoming happy and settled individuals.
Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills. Ofsted registered childminders are usually inspected by Ofsted within 30 months of first registering and then every six years afterwards. Inspections are to ensure that childminders are providing a safe and stimulating environment for the children they care for. The inspections lead to an official grading of either 'Outstanding', Good, 'Requires Improvement' and 'Inadequate'.
